Nora, who was born and raised in Tübingen, Germany, is a previously admitted attorney in Germany (not in South Africa) and an international immigration lawyer (Germany) with degrees and qualifications from Columbia Business School and IE Law School. Nora completed her studies in Germany, where she later gained experience as a German attorney and worked for the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht). She then pursued her dream and furthered her studies by achieving her Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa.

Nora is the CEO & Founder of Black Pen and built the company based on her own immigration experiences, as well as her exceptional skills, knowledge, and passion. She is a highly accomplished and dynamic previously admitted attorney in Germany and continues to be a leading figure in South African and German immigration.

Building on this international background, Nora identified a niche in FinTech recruitment in South Africa and globally. For over a decade, through Black Pen Recruitment, she has partnered with startups, scale-ups, and corporates across the FinTech, cryptocurrency, and technology sectors, supporting them in building high-performing teams. She has gained extensive international experience working with organisations across Europe, Asia, and Africa, helping companies scale from early seed funding stages through to IPO, while also supporting global companies entering and scaling in African markets.

Nora has been featured regularly on leading radio stations in South Africa, such as Heart FM and Good Hope FM, and also made a prominent appearance on SABC 3’s Expresso Morning Show, which was broadcast live across the country.

Black Pen has received several industry recognitions for its work across immigration and recruitment. Black Pen Immigration was awarded Top Boutique Corporate Immigration Law Consultancy by The Lawyer Network, and Nora was nominated as a Recommended Immigration Consultant globally by The Global Law Experts. More recently, Black Pen Recruitment was recognised at the Africa Fintech Forum 2025 with the Top Fintech Recruiters in Africa award, sponsored by BII Global, highlighting the company’s growing impact in FinTech recruitment across the continent.
