Who Does It Apply To?
The online declaration is required for anyone travelling through South Africa’s:
- Air ports
- Land borders
- Sea ports
- Rail ports
Travellers must declare any goods, currency, or other items that are subject to South African customs regulations.
Do You Have to Complete It Before Travelling?
While travellers are encouraged to submit their declaration before departure, you will not be refused entry into or departure from South Africa if you haven’t done so. SARS Customs officials and self-service terminals will be available at ports of entry to assist travellers who still need to complete the process.
