VISITOR'S VISA FOR ACCOMPANYING SPOUSES AND MINORS
What is it?
For the spouse and dependent children of another foreigner residing in South Africa on a long-term visa, there is the possibility of a long-term visitor’s visa for accompanying family members.
This visa is issued strictly for residential purposes only and does not allow the holder to conduct work in South Africa. The visa will be valid for a period of three years at a time.
- The applicant must be the spouse or dependent child of a foreigner with a valid long-term visa for South Africa.
- Accompanying spouses who wish to work in South Africa themselves can change their visa to a work visa from within South Africa, without having to return to their home country.
- If the main visa holder qualifies for permanent residence, it is often possible for the spouse and children to be included in this application.
