A Digital Nomad Visa allows foreign remote workers, employed by companies outside of South Africa or self-employed, to reside in South Africa while performing their job remotely. This visa may be issued for up to 3 years, with possible extensions, and is designed for individuals who work digitally without engaging in local employment or the South African job market.

Requirements
  • Proof of remote employment or self-employment with a company outside of South Africa.
  • Proof of income to support yourself during the stay. The financial requirement is an annual salary / revenue of R650,976.00
  • Valid passport with at least six months of validity. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the intended stay in South Africa.
  • Clean criminal record.
Good To Know
  • The visa may be issued for up to 3 years, with possible extensions.
  • If the visa is issued for longer than 6 months, registration with SARS for income tax will be compulsory.
